I have been teaching for 28 years and have experience with 2nd, 5th and 7th grade learners in all subjects, both in English and Spanish. Hi my name is Dr. Serrano and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I have been teaching for 9 years, with 4 of those years spent as an administrator. My main focus has been on RLA (Reading, Language Arts) for learners in grades 6-8. My teaching experience has been primarily in Texas, where I have had the opportunity to work with diverse groups of students and families. I hold a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and have obtained certifications as a generalist for grades 4-8 and EC-6. In addition, I am also qualified to teach English as a Second Language for learners in grades EC-8. I am proud to say that I am do know some Spanish, which has allowed me to connect with and support Spanish-speaking learners and their families. As a tutor, I understand the importance of making online learning fun and engaging for kids. That's why I strive to personalize each lesson to cater to the individual needs and interests of my learners. I also make sure to come prepared for each session, utilizing effective strategies to ensure that online learning is not only enjoyable but also effective. Outside of teaching, I love playing the saxophone and piano, as well as watching movies.
