Hello! My name is Arlú, and I’m an experienced online teacher who truly enjoys helping students grow in confidence and communication skills. I’ve worked with children and teenagers of different ages and levels, and I understand that every student learns in their own way. In my classes, I create a positive and structured environment where students feel comfortable participating and asking questions. My goal is to help them improve steadily while also feeling confident using the language in real life. I would love to support your child’s learning journey and make it a positive experience.

Hi! My name is Kelly and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I am in my fourth year of teaching, primarily in first grade. In this role, I have taught various subjects including reading, math, science, social studies, and health. I've had the joy of working with learners of all backgrounds and abilities, and have loved every moment of it. Currently, I am based in Maryland, but I am open to working with families from all over. I hold a B.A. in psychology and a PhD in child development, which have equipped me with a deep understanding of how children learn and grow. I am also certified to teach elementary education for grades 1-6. In addition to English, I am fluent in French and Spanish, and have loved incorporating these languages into my teaching whenever possible. My goal is to create a fun, inclusive, and enriching learning environment for all of my learners. When it comes to online learning, I strive to make every session enjoyable and effective. I am always looking for new and creative ways to engage my students, whether it's through gamified tools like Quizizz and Blooket, or through interactive simulations for science lessons. I also regularly use songs and videos to make my lessons more engaging and multimodal. My improv comedy background has also been helpful in teaching, as it has taught me the importance of being adaptable and flexible in any learning situation. Outside of teaching, I enjoy playing board games, reading fantasy novels, and performing improv with an amateur team. I believe that my personal interests have definitely influenced my teaching style, making it more dynamic, engaging, and fun for my learners.

With 5 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege to work with learners from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I have taught all subjects at the 3rd and 4th grade level, and I am passionate about making learning fun and engaging for my students. I have taught in the beautiful state of Georgia, where I have received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my master's in Curriculum and Instruction. During my teaching career, I have obtained certifications in gifted education and ESL. I am committed to providing my learners with a personalized and inclusive learning environment where they can thrive. I understand the importance of catering to each learner's unique needs and interests, and I am dedicated to helping them reach their full potential. Besides English, I am also fluent in Spanish. As an educator, I believe that fostering a creative mind is essential in making learning engaging. My love for reading, writing, and traveling has influenced my teaching style and methodology. I enjoy sharing my travel experiences with my learners and using them to build background knowledge, sparking their curiosity and desire to learn. When I'm not teaching, you can find me curled up with a good book, writing in my journal, or exploring new places. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your family and creating a fun and effective learning experience together!

Kindergartners are still in the optimal window for language acquisition. They can learn vocabulary, simple phrases, and proper pronunciation naturally, building skills that become harder to develop later.

At Dojo Tutor, our Spanish tutors work 1-to-1 with your child to build Spanish skills through engaging activities. Vocabulary, basic conversation, songs, and games make learning fun while developing real language abilities.

With personalized support, your child can build Spanish foundations during this optimal learning window.
