I enjoy learning about all of you and I love learning in general! Hi my name is Wendolyn and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With 22 years of experience in teaching grades 1-7 and 9-12, I have had the opportunity to work with learners from all walks of life. My teaching adventures have taken me to North Texas and Washington, where I have had the pleasure of helping students reach their full potential. As someone with a background in law and a Masters in International and Comparative Law, I have a unique perspective that I bring to my teaching. I am also National Board Certified and hold certifications in Texas Elementary, English as a New Language, Bilingual, and Spanish. I have been trained in GLAD, Dual Language and Math for Language learners in the states of Washington and Texas.

I have been teaching for 17 years. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I have taught abroad in Colombia teaching ESL students.

With over 28 years of experience in education, I’ve had the joy of teaching students from Pre-K through 5th grade and serving as a school administrator in preschool, elementary, and K–8 settings. My passion for teaching continues today through Dojo Tutor, where I love helping young learners grow and thrive. I live in sunny Florida with my husband—my college sweetheart—and our two daughters, ages 7 and 19, who keep life full of laughter and adventure. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me traveling, solving puzzles, or tending to my garden. I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths.

My teaching methods are designed to capture attention, foster active participation, and ensure that knowledge is retained effectively. With seven years of teaching under my belt, I've had the joy of working with learners from 1st to 9th grade in Mexico. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and my passion for teaching has only grown throughout my adventures in the classroom. To make online learning fun and engaging, I love using interactive activities, games, and visuals. Real-life examples bring lessons to life, and I always encourage kids to participate and share their ideas in a relaxed and supportive environment. Learning should feel like a fun adventure, not a chore! I set clear objectives and adapt my lessons to fit each learner’s needs, all while making sure they understand and enjoy the process. Outside of teaching, I enjoy diving into a good book, listening to music, and spending quality time with my pets. I have been teaching for 10 years and have experience teaching learners in grades PK-5th. My passion for teaching led me to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and Elementary Education. I am proud to be certified in FCCPC for Early Childhood and TESOL for English as a Second Language. Plus, I am also fluent in Spanish! My teaching experience has primarily been in Florida, where I have had the opportunity to work with diverse learners and families. I am dedicated to making online learning fun and engaging for my students. I do this by incorporating interactive games, engaging slides, and interactive stories/manipulatives into my lessons. These methods have proven to be effective in keeping learners interested and motivated to learn. Besides teaching, I love spending time with my family, reading, trying new foods, and continuing my learning in education. These interests have influenced my teaching style and methodology in many ways. Reading has helped me find new and creative ways to engage my learners, while constantly learning about education has allowed me to adapt to new teaching strategies and techniques. I am always open to suggestions and feedback from families and learners, as I believe it is important to listen and incorporate their thoughts into my lessons.
