I have 3 years of experience teaching 8th grade Math in Ohio. I hold a bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership, focusing in curriculum and instruction. My teaching certifications include grades 4-9 in math and science. I understand that online learning can be a bit overwhelming, especially for young learners. That's why building relationships with my students is a top priority for me. Getting to know my students and their interests allows me to incorporate their passions and make learning more engaging. I also bring lots of energy and positivity to my sessions, providing constant reinforcement to keep my learners motivated. I have been teaching for 8 years, and have experience working with learners in Elementary through 12th grade in a variety of subjects including Math, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Career Resource Education. I am certified to teach K-6 in all subjects, 6-12 in Business Education and Agriculture Education, and have a reading endorsement. Besides my passion for teaching, I also have a few personal interests and hobbies that I enjoy outside of the classroom. With 3 years of teaching experience, I have had the pleasure of working with learners from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I have taught a variety of subjects, including Special Education, Physical Science, Biology, Criminology, and Middle School Science, in several states, including HI, GA, NJ, WV, MS, LA, WI, and CA. My education includes a M.Ed in Special Education and a BA in Biology. In addition to my degrees, I hold certifications in Special Education, Biology, and Middle School Science. During my online sessions, I use a variety of tools to make learning fun and engaging for my learners. These tools include annotated worksheets, interactive slide decks, and games. To ensure effective learning, I ask follow-up higher level questions to check for understanding. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, taking walks with my sons, sitting outside, playing video games with my husband, and window shopping. My wide general knowledge of things from the reading and documentaries I watch allows me to bring in a lot of background information, which influences my teaching style and methodology. I am passionate about creating a positive and welcoming learning environment for all learners. My goal is to not only help my learners succeed academically, but also to instill a love for learning. I believe in connecting with my families and kids on a personal level to better understand their needs and tailor my teaching to their learning style. I have been teaching for roughly 13 years. I love my job. I have taught all subjects, but my passion is math.

For 33 years, I have been teaching learners in grades K-8 all subjects in West Virginia and Ohio. I hold a Bachelor's of Education and a Masters in Educational Technology, allowing me to blend traditional teaching with modern technology to make learning fun and effective. I am also certified to teach all subjects in grades K-8, making me well-equipped to support your child's academic needs. Besides English, I do not speak any other languages fluently. But my biggest strength is my love and enjoyment in working with kids. I have four adult children and five grandkids who keep me busy. I enjoy playing and doing crafts with them. In my free time, I also love to read and paint watercolor landscapes. My love of reading highly influences my teaching style, especially in math. I believe that solving word problems requires strong reading comprehension skills first. And as an artist at heart, I am always looking for creative ways to make learning more colorful, fun, and hands-on.
