Science Tutoring for 7th Grade

Over the past 17 years, I have had the pleasure of teaching a diverse range of learners in grades 1st through high school, covering all content areas. Originally from Louisiana, I have also taught in Mississippi and Alabama, gaining experience in different education systems and cultures. I hold a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree and a MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in STEM. In addition, I have obtained teaching certificates in both Mississippi and Alabama for grades K-6. My qualifications, combined with my years of teaching experience, equip me with the necessary skills to effectively support your child's learning journey. When it comes to online learning, I believe it is important to make it fun and engaging for students. That's why I love to use bright visuals and incorporate dance parties, trivia, and games into my lessons. I also use strategies such as quick checks and intentional scaffolding to ensure that the learning is effective. Outside of teaching, I enjoy fishing, reading books, and spending time with my family. These interests greatly influence my teaching style and methodology, as I love to incorporate my passions into lessons to make them more relatable and memorable for kids.

A graduate from Florida A&M University, Ashley majored in elementary education and has taught for 11 years. She is currently a middle school 8th grade science teacher who also devotes her time after school with sponsoring various organizations and clubs.

With 25 years of teaching experience, I am skilled in helping students with dyslexia and various reading issues. I have had the opportunity to teach a wide range of learners, from Pre-K to 12th grade, in various subjects including reading, writing, ELA, history, and science. I have taught in Louisiana and also had the privilege of teaching students from countries like China, Taiwan, Korea, Columbia, and the Middle East through online classes. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Family and Child Studies and a Masters in Elementary Education, and I am also certified in Special Education. My additional teaching certifications include Early Childhood, Elementary Education, Junior High, and Special Ed. Besides English, I can also fluently speak which I believe helps me better connect with my students from diverse backgrounds. As an educator, I strongly believe in making learning enjoyable and effective for my learners. I incorporate small games and personal stories related to the lesson, and my students often tell me that they love my teaching style. I also check for understanding throughout the lesson and ask questions to ensure my students fully understand the material. Outside of teaching, I am passionate about music, singing, and dancing. These interests heavily influence my teaching style and methodology as I love incorporating fun and catchy songs to help my learners remember important concepts. Hi, my name is Mr. George, and I’m excited to begin this learning journey with you! With over 10 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students across elementary and middle school, and even into 9th grade. I’ve taught in both beautiful Puerto Rico and sunny Texas, and I’m excited to bring that diverse experience into our online learning sessions. I’ve also been honored to receive the Teacher of the Year award, which reflects my passion for education and commitment to helping every student grow, succeed, and thrive. I have been an educator with The New York City Public Schools for twenty seven years. I primarily teach in elementary school. I also teach middle and high school students part time . I've been a Literacy Specialist for the past six years. I have vast experience teaching all subject areas. I am passionate about ensuring that all children reach their full potential in reading, writing, and mathematics. I enjoy working with students and their families. With 27 years of experience, I have taught a variety of subjects from Kindergarten to 8th grade including Math, Science, ELA, Reading, Social Studies, Art, and Computer Tech. I have taught in Washington, Idaho, and Kansas, so I have a wide range of knowledge and experiences from different regions and states. When not teaching, I am a busy mom with four teenage kids, so I am often found at soccer, wrestling, or other sporting events. In my free time, I enjoy reading, going for walks, and scrapbooking. I have been teaching for 14 years and have experience working with learners in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade for Math, 4th grade for ELA, and 5th and 7th grade for Science. My teaching career has taken place in Mississippi, where I currently reside. I hold a Masters in Elementary Education, a Masters in Education Leadership, and a Specialist in Curriculum & Instruction. I have 3 years of experience teaching 8th grade Math in Ohio. I hold a bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education and a Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership, focusing in curriculum and instruction. My teaching certifications include grades 4-9 in math and science. I understand that online learning can be a bit overwhelming, especially for young learners. I have been teaching for 8 years, and have experience working with learners in Elementary through 12th grade in a variety of subjects including Math, Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Career Resource Education. I am certified to teach K-6 in all subjects, 6-12 in Business Education and Agriculture Education, and have a reading endorsement. Besides my passion for teaching, I also have a few personal interests and hobbies that I enjoy outside of the classroom. I am a certified scuba diver and love exploring the beautiful underwater world. I also enjoy embroidery and spending time watching college football.

I’m currently a middle school math teacher in my sixth year of teaching. Before moving to middle school, I taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade, and I’ve also had short-term experience teaching ELA and Science for grades 5–8. Outside of school, I live with my husband, two dogs, and a cat. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, reading, and going on adventures with my family.
