Hi my name is Ms. Aliyah and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I have been a teacher for 19 years, teaching grades 1-6 in general education subjects such as math, science, social studies, literacy, and writing. My experience has been primarily in the state of Maryland, where I have had the opportunity to work with a diverse group of learners in various school settings. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Business Administration, providing me with a well-rounded background in both education and business. As an experienced educator, I hold an Advanced Professional Certificate (APC) in Elementary Education 1-6 and middle school, with specialized proficiencies in Special Education and reading. My goal is to create a positive and engaging learning environment for my students, both in person and online. I believe in infusing fun and interactive elements into my online lessons, through gamification, social-emotional learning check-ins, and student choice. I also make sure to celebrate my learner's achievements, creating a sense of motivation and accomplishment. Outside of teaching, I am a lover of reading, traveling, and watching movies. These interests not only enrich my personal life, but also influence my teaching style and methodology. My passion for reading allows me to deliver engaging read-alouds using expressive voices and storytelling, while promoting critical thinking skills through complex texts. Similarly, my love for traveling and curiosity about different cultures helps me build strong relationships with my students, as I share personal travel stories and welcome their diverse perspectives into our lessons. I can't wait to embark on this exciting learning journey with you and your family!

Hi my name is Sabrina Brown. I am excited to start this learning journey with you! For the past 7 years, I have been teaching 3rd through 5th graders in ELA and Math in Tennessee. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State University and a Master of Arts in Urban Education from Rhodes College. My teaching certifications include Elementary Education K-5 and Interventionist K-8. I make online learning enjoyable and effective by creating interactive lessons on engaging topics and setting goals for my learners. As a student-centered teacher, my goal is to help my students achieve their full potential in a fun and engaging way. I have experience helping students who are several grade levels behind grow significantly, as well as providing enrichment and advanced content for gifted learners who need to be challenged. I specialize in identifying where each student is academically and designing personalized instruction that meets their unique needs. Whether your child needs support catching up or is ready for an extra challenge, I’m equipped to help them grow and thrive. I’m committed to meeting students where they are and helping them move forward with confidence—whether they need support catching up or opportunities to go further. When I'm not teaching, you can find me scrapbooking, reading, swimming, or playing Animal Crossing. These interests allow me to bring creativity, passion, and mental clarity into my teaching style. I can't wait to get to know you and your family and help your kids reach their academic goals! Looking forward to working with you!

I have been teaching for 4 years, and for the past 2 years I have been in special education. I have taught all grades Pre-K through 5th grade, in all subject areas. Hi! My name is Lauren, and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! With four years of teaching experience under my belt, I've had the pleasure of working with kids in Pre-K through 5th grade, including those in Special Education. I’ve taught in Georgia, and I’ve truly loved every moment of helping kids grow and learn in all subjects. My goal is to make every learning experience not just educational but fun and full of laughter! To make online learning enjoyable, I like to use technology to gamify lessons. Think of it like leveling up in your favorite video game! I also love creating collaborative lessons on digital whiteboards where everyone can share their ideas. I believe in getting to know my learners and their interests, helping to build strong relationships that make learning exciting. Setting clear goals and encouraging participation helps me ensure that our time together is effective and rewarding! Outside of teaching, you can find me lost in a captivating book, whipping up something tasty in the kitchen, or enjoying family time. My love for reading inspires me to cultivate a lifelong passion for learning, while cooking teaches creativity and step-by-step thinking. I believe a warm and inclusive environment helps every learner thrive, and I can't wait to partner with you to embark on this adventure!

With 17 years of experience, I have had the privilege of teaching in two states, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I have taught learners in Kindergarten through 6th grade, in both general education and special education. Through my education, I hold a Bachelor's degree in both Elementary and Special Education, as well as a Master's degree in Special Education. I also have an Educational Leadership Certificate, and I am currently awaiting my test date to obtain an Administration Certificate. I believe that online learning can be just as engaging as in-person learning. With high energy and personalized lessons based on your child's interests, I strive to make our sessions enjoyable and interactive. I also incorporate quick breaks to keep learners focused and motivated. To ensure effectiveness, I eliminate distractions and continuously assess your child's learning throughout the lesson. By staying consistent and focusing on the lesson goal, I am dedicated to making sure your child is successful in their learning journey. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, and playing with my two dogs. These interests greatly influence my teaching style as I understand the importance of building strong relationships with learners and their families. I treat each learner as if they were my own child, and focus on providing the same attention and dedication that I would want for my own children. By sharing our interests and hobbies, we can build a strong connection and make learning even more enjoyable for your child.

Expert 3rd grade science support, built around your child

Third grade science introduces more complex concepts — forces and motion, life cycles in depth, weather and climate, and properties of matter. Children must understand scientific vocabulary and concepts that appear on standardized tests.

At Dojo Tutor, our 3rd grade science tutors work 1-to-1 with your child to build understanding and vocabulary. Whether it's understanding ecosystems, exploring physical science concepts, or preparing for assessments, sessions make science accessible.

With personalized support, your child can develop the science knowledge and skills that matter.
