I’ve been teaching for 11 amazing years, primarily focusing on high school social studies, inspired by my degree in International Affairs 🌍. However, I've had the pleasure of teaching learners of all ages—from elementary students to adults—and from all over the world 🌟. I absolutely love learning, teaching, and—most of all—my students! With 7 years of experience teaching learners in grades 5-12 and a degree in MAT Secondary English Education, I have a passion for helping students improve their reading and writing skills. I’ve had the privilege of teaching in Georgia as well as online worldwide, connecting with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Through my years of teaching, I’ve learned the value of creating a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages growth and confidence in my learners. To make online learning fun and engaging, I believe it’s important to incorporate interactive tools that spark curiosity and encourage active participation. From polls and quizzes to breakout rooms and group projects, I love finding ways to make lessons dynamic and enjoyable for my learners. I also make sure to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere by incorporating student interests and icebreakers that help everyone get to know each other. In addition, I use a variety of media, such as videos, visuals, and live demonstrations, to keep lessons interesting and cater to different learning styles. Outside of teaching, I love exploring new places and trying out new experiences that fuel creativity and joy. Whether it’s trying a new recipe, reading a good book, or spending time with loved ones, I believe in finding a balance between work and activities that bring happiness and growth. I have been an educator for over 20 years! I currently live in New Jersey - with my husband, two children (10th grade and 7th grade). My children participate in a lot of activities, however we are a hockey family with both my kids playing roller and ice hockey. We also have a dog - Marvel - named after Captain Marvel from the Avengers. We got her during the pandemic and she is so spoiled.

With 15 years of teaching experience, I have taught learners from Pre-k to 7th grade in New York, Florida, and North Carolina. My passion for education has led me to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, with a focus on grades K-6, and a Master's degree in Teaching Literacy for grades K-12. As an educator, I hold certifications in Elementary Education and Teaching Reading. I believe that every learner is unique and it's important to get to know them personally in order to create an engaging learning experience. That's why I love to incorporate their interests into my lessons and use educational games to make online learning fun! In addition, I monitor my students' understanding and adjust my instruction to ensure they are grasping the material effectively. My ultimate goal is to make learning enjoyable and effective for all of my learners. Outside of teaching, I am a lover of music and enjoy playing the ukulele and guitar. I also have a passion for art and enjoy drawing and painting in my free time. As an avid reader, you can always find me with a book or audiobook close by. I am also a proud parent to an 8-year-old daughter and have two dogs and a cat that I adore. I have been teaching for 23 years, and have experience working with learners from 5th -10th grade. I have taught a variety of subjects, including English, Social Studies, and English as a Second Language (ESOL). My teaching career has taken me to Virginia, Colorado, and Oregon. I hold a Masters in Teaching from the University of Virginia, with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction for Social Studies Education in grades 6-12. In addition, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in Studies in Women and Gender. I am also endorsed in ESOL for K-12 learners. My teaching certifications include Secondary Education, Social Studies, and ESOL K-12.

I spent most of those years teaching grades K-6 in the United States and internationally. I have a North Carolina K-6 License at the Masters level and I am also licensed to teach English Language up to grade 12. The wealth of experience and training gained over these years have equip me with the strategies and best practices needed to boost students' interest and enhance their academic performance. I have a documented record of boosting students' test scores and their overall academic growth by using data to monitor students' progress and create interventions to modify learning. With nine years of teaching experience in Special Education and elementary grades, I love helping students grow in math, science, and social studies.
