Reading Tutoring for 4th Grade

I have been teaching for 7 years and have experience working with learners in grades 5-12. I have taught English, Science, and have a special love for teaching 7th grade English. Currently, I am based in Illinois and have taught in various schools and locations within the state. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Education and have obtained a teaching certification for English in grades 6-8 and 9-12. My teaching style is human and story-based, making lessons fun and engaging by incorporating students' interests. By building a strong rapport with my learners, I am able to create a personalized learning experience that is both effective and enjoyable. Outside of teaching, I enjoy running, playing video games, and cooking. These interests heavily influence my teaching style, as I am driven to complete tasks with excellence and strive to help my learners achieve their full potential. With 14 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, fourth grade, and fifth grade learners in both Illinois and Missouri. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-9 and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also certified in both Illinois and Missouri to teach Elementary Education K-9. Besides English, I do not speak any other languages fluently. However, this does not hinder my ability to connect with each of my learners and personalize each lesson. To me, making online learning fun and engaging means building a strong relationship with each child. This allows me to incorporate their interests and unique learning style into every session. I believe that when a child is truly interested and invested in what they are learning, they will be more motivated to succeed. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, watching and attending sporting events, and spending time with my family. These interests greatly influence my teaching style and methodology. As a mother of three and a grandma to two little ones, I am able to connect with and support the children I teach on a deeper level. My love for books, sports, and my experience interacting with a wide range of children allows me to create engaging and relatable lessons for each of my learners. I'm currently a 5th grade teacher in a rural district in Michigan. I've taught 3rd -5th grade, along with preschool. I am certified for elementary, all subjects. I've been back in elementary education since 2018 after taking time off to raise my 3 daughters. I have completed training in LETRS and the Science of Reading, and also AMVR (Math Recovery). I have a Master's Degree in Education and am looking at returning to school for a second Master's Degree in Literacy or Curriculum and Design. Besides teaching, I have a small farm with cows, horses, chickens and barn cats. I also have 2 dogs. I am a mom to 3 grown daughters, and I have two grandsons, 10 and 3 months old. I tutor because I am passionate about helping kiddos have a positive experience in school and have mentors in their lives who are there just for them!

I have been teaching for 4 years and have experience working with learners from Kindergarten through undergraduate level. My main focus is on English, History, and Political Science, but I have also taught a variety of other subjects. I have primarily taught online and have had the opportunity to teach students from all over the world. I am currently completing certification requirements to become a certified social sciences teacher in California and will be teaching in a public school during the 2026-2027 school year.

Hi, my name is Christine, and I’m so excited to support your child on their learning journey! I’ve been teaching for 11 years and have worked with students in grades 1–5 in all subject areas, as well as with virtual ESL learners in grades PreK–7. I’ve primarily taught in Texas and hold a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Outside of teaching, I love spending time outdoors, exploring nature, enjoying time with family and friends, and getting lost in a good book.

I have been in Education for almost 20 years and have worked through being an assistant to now a classroom teacher. I have taught Special Education for 9 years prior to my current position teaching 5th grade.

With 9 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of working with learners from Kindergarten to 6th grade in various subjects, including math, reading, science, and social studies. My passion for teaching has taken me to sunny Florida, where I hold a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. My qualifications include Elementary K-6, ESOL, Reading, and Exceptional Ed. Beyond English, I am also fluent in French, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. I believe in making online learning fun and engaging by transforming the virtual classroom into an interactive playground!
