With 14 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, fourth grade, and fifth grade learners in both Illinois and Missouri. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-9 and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also certified in both Illinois and Missouri to teach Elementary Education K-9. Besides English, I do not speak any other languages fluently. However, this does not hinder my ability to connect with each of my learners and personalize each lesson. To me, making online learning fun and engaging means building a strong relationship with each child. This allows me to incorporate their interests and unique learning style into every session. I believe that when a child is truly interested and invested in what they are learning, they will be more motivated to succeed. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, watching and attending sporting events, and spending time with my family. These interests greatly influence my teaching style and methodology. As a mother of three and a grandma to two little ones, I am able to connect with and support the children I teach on a deeper level. My love for books, sports, and my experience interacting with a wide range of children allows me to create engaging and relatable lessons for each of my learners. I cannot wait to embark on this learning journey together with your family!

With 9 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of working with learners from Kindergarten to 6th grade in various subjects, including math, reading, science, and social studies. My passion for teaching has taken me to sunny Florida, where I hold a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. My qualifications include Elementary K-6, ESOL, Reading, and Exceptional Ed. Beyond English, I am also fluent in French, Spanish, and Haitian Creole. I believe in making online learning fun and engaging by transforming the virtual classroom into an interactive playground! Through dynamic discussions, creative projects, and a sprinkle of gamification, I strive to make every lesson an exciting adventure for my learners. To ensure effective online learning, I focus on creating a clear, well-structured environment with explicit expectations and consistent communication. I prioritize active learning through engaging, interactive content and a mix of synchronous and asynchronous activities. Building a strong sense of community and providing timely, specific feedback are crucial. My personal interests and hobbies outside of teaching, which include family time, reading, and traveling, greatly influence my teaching style and methodology. They remind me to foster a supportive, inclusive community and bring a global perspective to my lessons, ultimately helping my learners explore new cultures and broaden their horizons, right from their desks!

Expert 4th grade reading support, built around your child

Fourth grade reading demands deeper comprehension — inferencing, analyzing text structure, comparing across texts, and expanding academic vocabulary. Children who read slowly or struggle with comprehension fall further behind as texts become more complex.

At Dojo Tutor, our 4th grade reading tutors work 1-to-1 with your child to strengthen comprehension and critical thinking skills. Whether it's building vocabulary, understanding inference, or improving fluency, sessions target your child's specific challenges.

With personalized support, your child can develop the reading skills needed to succeed in upper elementary and beyond.
