Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Tutoring for 4th Grade

I have been teaching for 5 years, with a focus on 4th grade math. I have taught in North Carolina and have a Master’s of Arts in Teaching for Elementary Education. I am passionate about making online learning fun and engaging for my learners. I understand the challenges of learning virtually, especially for younger kids, and I strive to create an interactive and enjoyable experience for them. I use virtual manipulatives and whiteboard tools to keep my students engaged and actively participating in the lessons. This also helps me to assess their understanding and provide personalized support. Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and exploring new recipes in the kitchen. While my personal interests may not directly influence my teaching style, they do help me to bring a creative and playful energy to my lessons. I believe that learning should be fun and enjoyable, and I always strive to bring that spirit into my virtual classroom. Hi my name is Mrs. Wild and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! Through my 25 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to work with learners in grades 5 through 9, teaching a variety of subjects including Common Core Math, Elementary Education, and Middle School curriculum. I have been honored as SMECO Science Teacher of the Year and I am an alumni of the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teachers Academy. I have taught in the beautiful state of Maryland, where I currently reside. My passion for education led me to earn a Master of Education with a STEAMD focus, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Middle (1-8). I also hold several teaching certifications, including APL in Elementary and Middle (1-8), Reading, and Special Education. With my extensive background and qualifications, I am confident in my ability to support and guide learners in their educational journey. As an educator, I believe in making learning enjoyable and effective for my students. To ensure the effectiveness of online learning, I rely on visual and verbal cues from my learners, exit slips, direct observation and the support of Dojo's recording of their work during sessions. Outside of teaching, I enjoy a range of hobbies and interests that greatly influence my teaching style and methodology. I love coloring, listening to audio books, painting, and spending time in nature. My family, which includes my husband, children, and grandchildren, is a constant source of joy and inspiration. I also love spending time with my dog, Petey, swimming, and going to the beach. Through my diverse interests, I bring creativity, patience, and enthusiasm to my teaching, making it an enjoyable and rewarding experience for my learners. Originally from the wonderful state of Minnesota, I bring a global perspective shaped by travel to many countries and nearly every state across America. I have been an educator for 23 years. I have taught grade Kinder, 1st, 2nd and 4th grade. I have taught kinder for 15 years so my heart always go out to my kinder babies. I love to work with students in the lower grades because I feel they need the most attention.

Hi, I’m Mrs. Quinn! I have been teaching for over sixteen years, and I can honestly say there is nothing I would rather do. I started my journey in preschool and prekindergarten, where I fell in love with the magic of early learning. I now teach in a Special Education ERI classroom, where every day is filled with laughter, growth, and incredible “aha” moments. Outside of school, I spend my summers as a lifeguard and love spending time with my two dogs. Family traditions mean a lot to me, and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it is all about love, laughter, and time together. For 13 years, I have been an educator specializing in Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade gifted and talented learners. My teaching experience spans across Indiana and Maryland. I hold a Bachelor's degree plus 30 credits in education, and am also a certified Reading Specialist. In addition to English, I speak some Spanish.
