I am dedicated to making online learning fun and engaging for my students by bringing a positive attitude and adapting my teaching style to fit their needs. I also use strategies such as repetition and frequent assessments to ensure that online learning is effective for every learner. In my free time, I love to read, bake, and spend time with my own children. These interests greatly influence my teaching style and methodology as I understand the importance of creating a fun and nurturing learning environment for all students. With my own kids, I have learned the value of patience, creativity, and adaptability, which I bring into my tutoring sessions. With 17 years of experience, I have had the privilege of teaching in two states, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I have taught learners in Kindergarten through 6th grade, in both general education and special education. Through my education, I hold a Bachelor's degree in both Elementary and Special Education, as well as a Master's degree in Special Education. I also have an Educational Leadership Certificate, and I am currently awaiting my test date to obtain an Administration Certificate. I believe that online learning can be just as engaging as in-person learning. With high energy and personalized lessons based on your child's interests, I strive to make our sessions enjoyable and interactive. I also incorporate quick breaks to keep learners focused and motivated. To ensure effectiveness, I eliminate distractions and continuously assess your child's learning throughout the lesson. By staying consistent and focusing on the lesson goal, I am dedicated to making sure your child is successful in their learning journey. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, gardening, and playing with my two dogs. These interests greatly influence my teaching style as I understand the importance of building strong relationships with learners and their families. I treat each learner as if they were my own child, and focus on providing the same attention and dedication that I would want for my own children. By sharing our interests and hobbies, we can build a strong connection and make learning even more enjoyable for your child.

I have 20 years of experience teaching learners in grades 1, 4, 5, and 6. I have taught in beautiful New Jersey and have found that my passion for teaching has only grown with each passing year. My degrees in Education and Social Work have allowed me to incorporate a holistic approach to teaching, making sure to not only educate my learners but also to support their social and emotional needs. I hold a certification in Elementary Education K-8 and am always seeking opportunities for growth and development. I am confident in my ability to connect with learners of all backgrounds and abilities. I strongly believe that education should be enjoyable and meaningful for learners. That is why I strive to make online learning fun and engaging by connecting the lessons to real-life scenarios. This approach not only helps learners understand the material better but also makes learning more enjoyable. I also make sure to utilize our time effectively and keep the lessons engaging to ensure that online learning is effective for my learners. When I'm not teaching, you can find me tending to my garden, exploring the thrift shops, and spending quality time with my children. These interests serve as a constant source of motivation and inspiration for my teaching style. I am looking forward to getting to know your family and working together to achieve our learning goals. Together, we can make this learning journey a fun and enriching experience for your kids.

With more than 15 years of teaching experience under my belt, I have taught all elementary subjects to kids of varying backgrounds and abilities in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Although I earned my B.S. in Journalism from Ohio University, my love of teaching began as a volunteer tutor in Ohio while I was writing professionally. I followed up with a Master's Degree in Education from PennWest University in Pennsylvania. Having a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate (Instructional I Elementary Education) and many years of rich professional development and training also allows me to ensure the highest quality of education for my students. As a tutor at Dojo Tutor, I believe in making online learning enjoyable and effective for my young learners. One of my strategies for this is to personalize my instructional plans to connect with each student's interests. Whether it's incorporating their favorite stories, props, or even going outdoors, I am willing to do whatever it takes to make learning come to life. Enhancing this approach, I am also skilled at using both formative and summative assessments to track and enhance their progress. Outside of teaching, I am an avid reader and a passionate writer. My love for fitness also keeps me active and energized. With an interest in travel and global cultures, too, I am always on the lookout for new adventures and love exploring the outdoors. These interests hugely influence my teaching style and methodology as I strive to make personal connections with my students. By aligning our interests, I am able to create fun, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences that keep my learners motivated and excited to learn.
