Hey there! I’m Riana, teacher, tutor, book enthusiast, and expert at turning learning into something kids get excited about. I create hands-on, interactive reading lessons that help students connect with stories, think critically, and actually enjoy the learning process. My tutoring sessions are filled with creativity, conversation, and confidence-building moments. Mistakes are welcome here — they mean we’re trying, learning, and moving forward together.

I have 5 years of experience teaching Kindergarten through 4th grade in North Carolina. My main subjects include ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science. I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's of Arts in History. My licensure in Elementary Education K-6 ensures that I have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively teach young learners. I am passionate about making learning fun and engaging for my students, and I am ready to bring that energy to our 1:1 sessions at Dojo Tutor! Besides English, I do not speak any other languages fluently. However, I am always eager to learn new things and I believe that our diverse backgrounds and experiences can enrich our learning journey together. To make online learning enjoyable for my students, I incorporate what they like and make it relatable to the lesson. I also give them the first two minutes of our session to tell me about their day and how they are doing, creating a welcoming and safe space for them to share their thoughts and feelings. In terms of effectiveness, I set clear learning goals, am consistent with my teaching, and use active learning techniques to keep my learners engaged. My personal interests and hobbies, such as learning new things, reading, and traveling, influence my teaching style and methodology. I love to bring real-world knowledge and experiences into the classroom to enhance student learning. When I'm not teaching, I can be found trying new foods, shopping, or spending time with my family and friends. I am excited to get to know you and your family and create a fun and effective learning experience for your child!

Can support: ADHD, Special ed, Autism spectrum ...

I have been teaching for 5 years and have had the privilege of working with learners in Pre-K, 2nd, 5th, and 6th grade. In Pre-K and 2nd grade, I have taught every subject, and in 5th and 6th grade, I focused on social studies. I believe that every subject is important and should be fun, engaging, and tailored to each individual learner's needs I have taught in Tennessee, where I am from, and I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. Currently, I am working towards obtaining my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am also certified in Elementary Education K-5 and Early Childhood Education. My goal as a tutor is to create a safe and supportive learning environment for my learners. Learning should be enjoyable and effective, no matter the setting. That's why I love incorporating hands-on activities, technology, and movement into my lessons. My students often don't realize they're learning because they're having so much fun! I also establish a routine and goals for my learners to ensure their success. Outside of teaching, I love serving at my local church and volunteering in media. I believe my creative approach to teaching is influenced by my love for media and technology. I can't wait to share my passion for learning with your family and see your learner succeed!
