Hi my name is Ms. Cox and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I have been teaching for 29 years in Texas. I hold degrees in Elementary Education (Grade 1-8) and Physical Education (Grade 1-8) and I am certified in Reading and ESL. This means I have the knowledge and experience to support and challenge learners of all levels. My passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom. I am dedicated to making online learning enjoyable and effective for each of my students. I use a variety of strategies, including games and interactive resources, to keep kids engaged and motivated. I also prioritize building a strong relationship with my learners, creating a safe and supportive space for them to learn and grow. My goals are for my students are to help build confidence, to know it's okay to make mistakes, and to guide my students to a successful learning. When I'm not teaching, you can find me spending time with my family, friends, and furry companions, or cooking up a storm in the kitchen. I am a certified teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching Kindergarten through 3rd grade, I believe learning should be fun, engaging, and full of excitement. I’ve taught reading, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning in Georgia, and I love helping students build strong reading and math foundational skills. I have worked in a public school setting as a paraprofessional (or teaching assistant) for five years. I have worked with students on a one on one basis to meet their goals and foster a love for learning. I have the most experience working with students with special needs and behavioral concerns. I love working with all students and always give my best effort so we can meet and achieve their goals.

I have been teaching for 4 years and have experience working with learners in 5th grade for literacy and social studies, as well as 1st grade. I have taught in the state of Arkansas, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I hold certifications in Elementary K-6 and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Online learning can be a challenge, but I make it fun and engaging for my students by incorporating their interests into my lessons. I give my students a voice in their learning, allowing them to take ownership and be actively engaged in the material. To ensure that online learning is effective, I work with students and families to set goals and use progress monitoring to track their progress. Outside of teaching, I enjoy hiking, camping, and gardening, which often inspire the nature-centered themes in my teaching.
