I have been an educator for over 20 years, and I am passionate about teaching students!

Hi, my name is Damien, but you can call me Coach Sal or Mr. Sal. I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I have been teaching for seven years in Georgia, specializing in Math, Science, English language arts (ELA), and Social Studies for students in grades 2 through 5. In addition to my degree in General Education and Special Education, I also hold a Master's in Applied Behavior Analysis and an EdS in Special Education. I understand the challenges that come with online learning, especially for younger learners. That's why I make it a priority to not only be myself but also to bring energy and enthusiasm to every session. My natural smile is an immediate ice breaker, and I take the time to listen to my students and ask intentional questions to keep the conversation going. To ensure the effectiveness of online learning, I employ a range of strategies, including remediation. I believe that sometimes we need to take a step back to move forward. This allows me to assess where we stand as a team and ensure that the previous lesson is still understood before moving on to the next one. Outside of teaching, I enjoy skateboarding, coaching wrestling, spending time with my dogs, and cooking for my family. I have taught a variety of subjects including reading, math, writing, and science. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and I am certified to teach grades K-6 as well as English as a Second Language.

Hi! I’m a tutor with a Master’s in Math and Science, plus Reading and ESOL endorsements. I work with students from Kindergarten through 6th grade and specialize in both Math and Reading. I truly LOVE math and enjoy helping kids discover the fun and excitement in numbers. I’m passionate about helping students feel confident, supported, and successful in school.

With over 12 years of experience, I’ve had the joy of teaching kids from Pre-K all the way through first grade in North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas. My master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a minor in early childhood education helps me create fun and engaging lessons tailored just for your learner. Making online learning fun is my superpower! I love to bring some joy to our sessions with singing and dancing, and I’m all about using games and pop culture references so kids can connect with what they love. Smooth transitions are key for me, ensuring we make the most of our time together and dive into learning without a hitch! When I’m not teaching, I cherish cooking new recipes with my son, Ethan, and taking long walks with our lovable Mini Goldendoodle, King. Traveling is also one of my favorite pastimes, especially cruising on the open sea! These interests inspire me to encourage kids to try new things and embrace learning as a fun adventure. I have been teaching for 18 years and have experience working with learners from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Outside of teaching, I have a couple of hobbies that I am very passionate about. I love making bracelets and am an independent consultant for Mary Kay. These interests may not seem related to teaching, but they have taught me valuable lessons about understanding individual needs and adapting to different learning styles. Hello! My name is Melinda. I’m excited to start this learning journey with you and your child! I live in Alaska, where I’ve spent the past 24 years teaching students from PreK - 8th grade. I’ve had specialized training that has given me the understanding, support, and privilege of working with learners of all backgrounds, and abilities—including students with IEPs, IRIPs, Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, ESL/ELL needs, behavior challenges, varying levels of autism, specific language disabilities, and other unique learning needs.

With over 28 years of experience in education, I’ve had the joy of teaching students from Pre-K through 5th grade and serving as a school administrator in preschool, elementary, and K–8 settings. My passion for teaching continues today through Dojo Tutor, where I love helping young learners grow and thrive. I live in sunny Florida with my husband—my college sweetheart—and our two daughters, ages 7 and 19, who keep life full of laughter and adventure. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me traveling, solving puzzles, or tending to my garden. I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s unique strengths.

As an educator, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Along with these academic accomplishments, I am also certified in Early Childhood Education for Pre-K to 3rd grade. My passion for teaching is reflected in my methods, where I strive to make learning enjoyable and effective for learners of all ages. Beyond teaching, I have a variety of interests and hobbies that keep me energized and motivated. I love reading, playing video games, and binge-watching TV shows. I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places, especially through trying new foods and hiking in parks. My favorite music genres are K-Pop and Taylor Swift. I am a big fan of everything Disney with Mulan being my all-time favorite movie. These interests influence my teaching style by incorporating books, games, and humor to make the learning experience fun and engaging for my students. I believe that every child has the potential to reach their goals, and I am committed to helping them do so through personalized and interactive 1:1 sessions.
