I have been teaching for 14 years in Indiana, working with learners in elementary grades (K-6) and English as a New Language (ENL). My degree in Elementary Education K-6 has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to effectively guide my students in their learning journey. My teaching career has been rich and fulfilling, and I cannot wait to share my passion for education with your family. As an educator, I am committed to making online learning fun and engaging for my learners. With my interactive activities and upbeat classroom, I strive to create a positive and enjoyable learning experience that keeps my students motivated and interested. I firmly believe that when students are having fun, their learning becomes more effective. To ensure that my online sessions are effective, I use practice activities that allow my learners to apply the concepts they have learned and reinforce their understanding. My personal interests in reading, animals, and anything Disney also play a role in my teaching style. I tend to integrate these interests into my lessons whenever possible, making connections that are relatable and engaging for my students. Outside of teaching, you can often find me curled up with a good book or spending time with my furry friends. My love for Disney is unmatched, and I am always happy to share trivia and fun facts with my learners. I cannot wait to get to know your family and embark on this learning journey together.

In addition to my qualifications, I hold certifications in Talented and Gifted, Special Education, and ESOL. My goal is to make learning an enjoyable and effective experience for all of my students, whether they are just starting their academic journey or need extra support in a specific subject. Online learning can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for young learners. That’s why I make it my mission to create a fun and engaging atmosphere for all of my students. I believe that every kid has the potential to succeed, and I am committed to helping them reach their full potential by setting clear goals, providing encouragement, and making lessons digestible and interactive. Outside of teaching, I love to read, workout, play basketball, and practice martial arts. With 15 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of teaching English Language Arts to learners in grades 1-8. My teaching journey has taken me to various states and regions, including DC and MD, where I have had the opportunity to work with diverse groups of learners. I hold a Masters of Education in Elementary Education and have specialized in Accelerating Early Literacy Development from Duke University. My passion for teaching goes beyond the classroom - I am constantly finding ways to make online learning fun and engaging for my learners. I use interactive games and resources, as well as tools like annotation and screen sharing, to create an interactive virtual classroom that allows for meaningful learning experiences. My goal is to ensure that online learning is effective for my learners, and I do this through goal setting, planning, and promoting interaction through annotation and polls. Aside from teaching, I have a variety of interests and hobbies that keep me energized and inspired. I love attending live music events, coaching, and staying active through fitness. In fact, my passion for fitness and coaching has greatly influenced my teaching style and methodology. I strongly believe that consistency is key in both teaching and fitness, and I strive to bring that mindset into my virtual classroom. I am looking forward to getting to know your family and working together to make learning a fun and fulfilling experience for your kids!
