Hi! I’m Ms. Ashley, an experienced tutor with five years of classroom-based experience working directly with students through tutoring, advising, and teaching across a range of learning needs. I provide all-around academic tutoring, with reading, writing, and spelling as my primary specialties. With a background in creative writing, I help students strengthen reading comprehension, written expression, and spelling—skills that support learning across all subjects.

Hi! My name is Colin and I am excited to start this learning journey with you! I have been a teacher for 10 years, working with learners from kindergarten to sixth grade. In addition, I have experience working with students on the autism spectrum. I have taught in both Illinois and South Carolina, bringing a diverse range of perspectives and experiences to my teaching. I hold a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership. I am also certified for K-9 with a high specialization in English Language Arts.

I have been teaching for 16 years, specializing in K-5 Technology, 3-5 Science, Social Studies, K-8 Reading & Math. I have taught in the beautiful state of North Carolina, where I hold a MAT in Education from THE A&T State University (Aggie Pride).

I have been teaching for several years in various roles, and have had the privilege of working with Kindergarten through 8th grade learners in reading & writing. While I am based in Illinois, I am excited to provide online tutoring services through Dojo Tutor to families all over the country. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, as well as a Professional Educator License and a Reading Teacher Endorsement. My love for teaching and connecting with kids is what inspired me to pursue a career in education. I am always willing to adapt my teaching style to best support the individual needs of each learner. Online learning can be just as fun and effective as in-person learning, and I am committed to making sure that is the case for all of my students. I achieve this by using engaging content and incorporating students' interests into our lessons. I also keep our sessions interactive, ensuring that the learner is actively participating and staying engaged throughout the entire session. Outside of teaching, I love to read and spend time with my two kids, and I have recently taken up learning to draw with procreate. These personal interests greatly influence my teaching style and methodology, allowing me to share my love for reading and creativity with my learners. Hello families! I’m an energetic and bilingual (English/Spanish) tutor with over 5 years of experience supporting K–8 students. I’m passionate about helping children build confidence, master new skills, and discover that learning can be fun! I’m trained in special education strategies through STEDI.org and certified as a Teacher Assistant.

I am an educator with over 15 years of teaching experience in both regular education and special education settings. I have worked with a wide range of learners, from high-performing students to those needing intensive academic and behavioral support. In addition to classroom teaching, I coach teachers on implementing targeted interventions to meet diverse student needs. I hold an A.A. in Business, a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and a Master’s degree in Special Education. I am certified in Elementary Education (K–6), Special Education (K–12), and Social Studies (6–12). Outside of work, I stay busy with my two sons, who keep life fun and full.

With more than 15 years of teaching experience under my belt, I have taught all elementary subjects to kids of varying backgrounds and abilities in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Although I earned my B.S. in Journalism from Ohio University, my love of teaching began as a volunteer tutor in Ohio while I was writing professionally. I followed up with a Master's Degree in Education from PennWest University in Pennsylvania. Having a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate (Instructional I Elementary Education) and many years of rich professional development and training also allows me to ensure the highest quality of education for my students. As a tutor at Dojo Tutor, I believe in making online learning enjoyable and effective for my young learners. One of my strategies for this is to personalize my instructional plans to connect with each student's interests. Whether it's incorporating their favorite stories, props, or even going outdoors, I am willing to do whatever it takes to make learning come to life. Enhancing this approach, I am also skilled at using both formative and summative assessments to track and enhance their progress. Outside of teaching, I am an avid reader and a passionate writer. My love for fitness also keeps me active and energized. With an interest in travel and global cultures, too, I am always on the lookout for new adventures and love exploring the outdoors.
