-Hi my name is Ms. Karen and I am excited to start this learning journey with you and your student! I have been teaching for 4 years and have focused on 2nd and 3rd grade General Education. I am teaching in North Carolina. My degree in Elementary Education equips me with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach young learners. I believe that every child has the potential to thrive and I strive to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all my students.

I have been teaching for 7 years, primarily in Kindergarten and 2nd grade in Illinois. My passion for working with young learners started when I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Through my years of experience, I have also gained certifications in English as a Second Language and Special Education. As a tutor at Dojo Tutor, my main focus is providing 1:1 sessions for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. My goal is to make learning accessible, engaging, and personalized for each learner. When it comes to online learning, I always make sure to get to know my students and incorporate plenty of brain breaks to keep things fun. I also use frequent check-ins and informal assessments to ensure that the lessons are effective and tailored to the learner's needs. Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going for walks, and working out. One of my hobbies is reading, which I find incredibly calming and enjoyable. I believe that my personal interests help me connect with my students and be more patient with them. I am excited to bring my passion for teaching and my unique teaching style to Dojo Tutor. I cannot wait to meet my new learners and their families and embark on a learning journey together!

I have been teaching for 28 years, specializing in PreK, K, and 2nd grade. My passion is helping young learners reach their full potential and I have had the pleasure of teaching in Michigan, where I currently reside. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching Early Childhood Education. Additionally, I have a ZA Endorsement which further qualifies me to work with young learners. Outside of teaching, I am a published picture book author and love to spend my free time writing and nurturing my love for literacy. My name is David Rodenkirch, and I am passionate about teaching. Early, during my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, I taught music in several high schools and at a university in Southern Arizona. Most recently, I've been a Special Education teacher for the past nine years, helping elementary students access their best learning opportunities, keeping in mind specific learning styles and neurodiverse brains. I am currently a Behavioral Specialist for a local school district in Oregon, and enjoy helping students build their skills in all areas to find their best potential to learn and grow as independent, lifelong learners. My wife and I have four kids of our own, and love cycling, kayaking, hiking and music.

Hello!! I have 25 years of experience in public education. I began my career in 2000 as a 2nd grade teacher, then moved to 1st grade the next year and taught 1st grade for five years. Then, I taught 4th grade Reading Language Arts for one year, and then an opportunity presented itself for me to move into a literacy coaching role at a new elementary school in my previous district. I coached teachers for five years, then moved into administration. Since 2012, I have served as a data analyst and a technology lead. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and friends and family. We have two daughters and one precious Maltese-Shitzu mix! I also love to run, strength train, and do Pilates. I also enjoy cooking and baking!
