With four years of experience in teaching middle school social studies in sunny Florida, I have a knack for making history and geography come alive. My bachelor’s degree in Geography and my master’s degree in Public Health help me bring a unique perspective to our sessions, and I can’t wait to share it with you! I believe that learning online should be just as fun and engaging as learning in person. I love to connect with my learners and ensure that our time together is filled with laughter and creativity. Hi, my name is Miss Mica and I am grateful to have started my teaching career in August 2005. Over the years I have taught fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade in North Carolina. I also had a chance to work in early childhood for four years. I was able to work as a Preschool Teacher Assistant in the NC-Pre K classroom. Teaching ELA, Social Studies, World History, and Science has provided me with ways to look at learning in new ways while working with some amazing students. I have been able to start working as an online tutor in November 2025 and it has allowed me to take my love for teaching to another level in a rewarding new opportunity. I'm so excited to be part of the Dojo Tutoring company to be able to reach more students and families as I strive to make a difference.

I have been teaching for 6 years, working with learners in grades 3 and 4 across all content subject areas including Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science. My teaching experience has been primarily in Maryland, where I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Child Psychology. I also have a Conditional Teacher License, which allows me to provide specialized support to students with varying needs in the classroom. Online learning should be fun and engaging! To do this, I am intentional about incorporating interactive and student-centered strategies that spark curiosity and maintain interest. I love to gamify lessons with tools like Kahoot and Blooket to turn reviews into exciting challenges. My lessons also include short, varied segments to keep learners focused, and I use visual aids, graphics, and stories to make concepts more relatable. To build a sense of community, I start classes with fun polls, icebreakers, or even a simple check-in. This boosts morale and creates a connection between myself and my learners. In my free time, you can find me shopping, spending time with family, or exercising. These interests greatly influence my teaching style and methodology as well. My value for family makes me empathetic, patient, and relationship-focused in the classroom, creating a warm and supportive environment for learners. I believe my interest in exercise contributes to my energetic personality, which translates into my active teaching style that incorporates movement, wellness, and regular breaks. Hi! I’m a proud island girl from the Caribbean and a dedicated Special Education teacher with over 13 years of experience supporting elementary students across two states. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of teaching in a variety of settings—including Specialized Structured Life Classrooms, resource and inclusion environments, and programs for medically fragile students. My passion lies in meeting each student exactly where they are and helping them thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in creating a nurturing, inclusive space where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

I have been teaching and working with children for over 21 years, and helping students grow and succeed is truly my passion. Over the years, I’ve had the joy of serving as a Pre-K teacher, 3rd grade teacher, 5th grade teacher, media specialist, and after-school director. These experiences have helped me understand how children learn at different ages and how to support them in the best ways possible. I love partnering with families to discover where a student may need extra help and then creating hands-on, individualized lessons that make learning fun and meaningful. My goal is to build confidence, strengthen skills, and help each child feel proud of their progress. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my five pets and traveling with my family. I hold an Honours Bachelor's degree in Political Science along with Teacher Licensure, and certifications in K-6 General Education, K-12 General Special Education, LETRS, Mindful Schools, Foundations of Math, and Trauma and Crisis Management. My goal as a tutor is to not only help kids academically, but also build their confidence and to see them become kind and trustworthy individuals. With 14 years of teaching experience, I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, fourth grade, and fifth grade learners in both Illinois and Missouri. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K-9 and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also certified in both Illinois and Missouri to teach Elementary Education K-9. Besides English, I do not speak any other languages fluently. However, this does not hinder my ability to connect with each of my learners and personalize each lesson. To me, making online learning fun and engaging means building a strong relationship with each child. This allows me to incorporate their interests and unique learning style into every session. My name is Paula-Kaye Willoughby, and I am a dedicated, caring, and passionate educator with experience supporting students in reading, math, writing, phonics, and foundational skills. I currently teach in Virginia and take pride in helping students grow academically and gain confidence. I love creating engaging learning experiences and tailoring instruction to each child’s needs so they can feel successful and supported.

I'm currently a 5th grade teacher in a rural district in Michigan. I've taught 3rd -5th grade, along with preschool. I am certified for elementary, all subjects. I've been back in elementary education since 2018 after taking time off to raise my 3 daughters. I have completed training in LETRS and the Science of Reading, and also AMVR (Math Recovery). I have a Master's Degree in Education and am looking at returning to school for a second Master's Degree in Literacy or Curriculum and Design. Besides teaching, I have a small farm with cows, horses, chickens and barn cats. I also have 2 dogs. I am a mom to 3 grown daughters, and I have two grandsons, 10 and 3 months old. I tutor because I am passionate about helping kiddos have a positive experience in school and have mentors in their lives who are there just for them!
