With 11 years of teaching experience, I’ve had the joy of working with kids from Kindergarten through 8th grade, especially focusing on building confidence in reading, writing, and math. I love teaching in a way that makes learning fun, using games and real-world examples to help my learners develop essential skills they’ll use for life. I also specialize in helping kids improve their Math skills and English skills, ensuring every lesson is interactive and enjoyable! I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in Texas, California, and online, which has given me a wealth of experiences to draw from. I’m passionate about creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where kids feel comfortable to express themselves and explore new ideas. My teaching style is all about keeping it personalized and fun! I check in often, tailor lessons to fit each learner, and encourage a growth mindset—because every small step forward is a reason to celebrate! When I'm not teaching, you can find me relaxing at the beach, diving into Portuguese movies to brush up on my language skills, or exploring new topics that spark my curiosity. I believe these hobbies help me bring fresh energy into our lessons, making them engaging and inspiring. I can't wait to share this exciting adventure of learning with you and help spark a lifelong love for knowledge!

I have been teaching for the last 6 years, with 3 years spent teaching at a high school and the other 3 years teaching at summer school. My experience teaching covers grades 9-11 in Math II and Math III. I am originally from West Virginia, where I hold a West Virginia Teaching Certificate. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Math and a Masters of Arts in Teaching for 5-adult learners In my free time, I enjoy running and reading, but I also have a passion for learning about different technologies. This interest has greatly influenced my teaching style and methodology, allowing me to use a variety of technology tools in my teaching. I believe that staying updated with the latest technology can make online learning more engaging and effective for my learners. As a tutor at Dojo Tutor, I strive to make online learning fun and engaging for my students. I understand that online learning can be challenging at times, but I have found that game-based learning is extremely effective in keeping kids interested and excited about learning. I use various platforms such as Kahoot, Blooket, Jeopardy Games, NearPods, and Desmos activities to make learning more interactive and enjoyable for my learners. Moreover, I also use strategies like warm-up exercises, modeling, and note-based introductions to ensure that online learning is effective for my students. I am looking forward to connecting with your family and working with your kids at Dojo Tutor. My passion for teaching and using technology as a teaching tool will make your child's learning experience engaging, personalized, and accessible. I can't wait to start this learning journey with you and your family!
