I've been working with students for over 25 years, and I love helping kids who learn in unique ways feel smart, strong, and supported. When I’m not tutoring, you can find me baking sweet treats, reading good books, or working in my garden (I grow mint, tomatoes, and even peppers!). Hello! I’m Meghan, a dedicated tutor who loves helping students discover what they’re capable of. I specialize in early literacy, reading intervention, and supporting multilingual learners as they build English language and phonics skills. My lessons are calm, structured, and encouraging — designed to help each student make meaningful, measurable growth at their own pace.

I have 22 years of experience teaching learners in grades second and third, across all subject areas. I have taught in the great state of Texas and hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. My teaching certifications include Early Childhood to Fourth Grade Generalist, which means I am well-equipped to help learners of all ages and abilities. In order to make online learning fun and engaging, I focus on building relationships with my learners, using gamified activities, and incorporating interactive activities. These methods not only keep kids entertained, but also promote a love for learning. Just like I have interests outside of teaching, I encourage my learners to explore their own passions and interests. My personal hobbies include reading, traveling, and dancing. These interests often influence my teaching style and methodology, as they allow me to bring real-world experiences and connections into the virtual classroom. By staying well-informed and well-rounded, I am able to better support my learners and their individual needs. I have been teaching and working with pre-K and elementary students since 2007, and have loved every minute of it! I am passionate about helping students find the strategy that best helps them learn, and that unlocks their full potential. I live in the midwest with my husband and our two children, two dogs, and one cat. Some of the things I enjoy are reading, going outside, and playing board games.

Hello families! My name is Ms. Jylah Jones, and I’m excited to be part of your child’s learning journey. I’ve been teaching for five years, and during that time, I’ve had the opportunity to teach ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies in both Louisiana and Texas. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and am currently pursuing my Master’s in Education. I also hold an intern teaching certificate as I continue advancing my teaching career.

I'm originally from the Washington, D.C. area, but I've been proud to call North Carolina home for the past 12 years. I'm a lifelong fan of the Washington Commanders, cheering them on since their earlier days. I'm also an alumna of Elon College, which holds a special place in my heart. Alongside my amazing family, I share my home with a sweet 2-year-old Maltese who is truly the apple of my eye. I enjoy giving back through community volunteering, which keeps me connected and inspired.

With over 20 years of experience in teaching, I have worked with learners in Kindergarten and 1st grade, as well as students in grades 2nd-7th grades in various states such as Georgia, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. I hold a variety of degrees, including an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership, a Master's degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum & Instruction, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Family & Consumer Science. In addition to these degrees, I also hold certifications in Educational Leadership, Elementary Education (P-5), and School Librarian (P-12).

I have spent the past 6 years teaching second grade, but have tutored students in other grade levels for the past 3 years. During this time, I've devoted a lot of time and energy to understanding and learning the most effective ways to teach students to read, write, and spell. I am a Teacher Incentive Allotment Designee, with a rating of Exemplary. This designation is given to select teachers by the Texas Education Agency. It is based on students consistently meeting their growth goals, annual state test scores, and student input in the form of anonymous surveys.
