What a phonics session looks like
Diagnostic first session
Your child's tutor assesses where they are, not just grade level, but which specific phonics patterns they've mastered and which need work.
- Letter-sound knowledge check
- Decoding and encoding assessment
- Fluency screening
- Personalized plan shared with you
Ongoing sessions
Each 25-minute class follows a structured routine of warm-up, teach, practice, and read, so your child builds skills systematically, not randomly.
- Review previous sounds and patterns
- Introduce new phonics concept
- Practice with decodable text
- Dictation / encoding practice
