Deb DietrichReading Interventionist in Tucson, AZ
Deb is all about bringing the community together. 🤗 She’s been teaching first grade for almost two decades, and when it comes to reading enrichment at her gifted school, she’s a superstar! In her current school community, she’s supporting families who speak Nepali, Kurdish, Russian, Cambodian, Vietnamese, Arabic, Spanish—and more! Deb does everything she can to reach all families, like connecting with parents who attend the English classes her school offers to adults. ClassDojo has traveled with Deb as she’s made an impact teaching in Phoenix, Pennsylvania, and now, Tucson. With the support of her school leader, Deb hosted a fabulous open house at the beginning of the year. She continues to make opportunities to collab with school staff—secretaries, maintenance workers, and co-teachers are all part of the effort to spread positive points around campus. Deb is also always there to cheer on her colleagues with Mojo when they hit that 100% parent connection. Deb is truly the community queen! 👑
Keke Powell2nd grade teacher in Buda, TX
Keke is the happiest when she’s in her classroom because every day is a brand-new adventure. She recently made a big move from Hawaii, where she taught for six years, to a school that just broke ground in Texas. She’s already made a huge impact in helping students reach their reading level goals by the end of the year—which is probably part of why she received the HEB of Excellence in Education right out of the gate. 👏 But it’s not about racking up the accolades: Keke’s true motivation is her passion for getting her students ready to conquer third grade and beyond. She believes the key to success is figuring out what peaks students’ interests and sharing relevant stories with them. This also applies to how she supports her fellow teachers—when her principal asked her to lead a PD, she took it to the next level by creating a Kahoot game to get teachers set up on ClassDojo. Thank you Keke for setting us all up for success! 🎉
Candice Ledet1st Grade Teacher in Asbury Park, NJ
Candice has been a true leader by example. Throughout her nine years as a teacher, she’s been modeling kindness at all times—and inspiring her kids to do the same! One example: They rocked Dojo Bingo and did a random act of kindness each day to spread smiles far and wide. 🥰 On top of her relationship-building work with students, she’s been supporting her fellow teachers as a Mentor for four years—and counting! Recently, she presented to her entire school board to show-and-tell how she includes Mojo in her SEL and creative writing lessons. Let’s go Candice! 🙌
Teh Siew Eng6th Grade Science Teacher in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
Siew Eng is a rockstar Mentor who’s been teaching science for over 13 years. As the Assistant Head of the Science Department, she loves creating hands-on class experiments to explore gravity and the states of matter. 🧪 She posts snaps from the lab on Class Story so families can get in on the fun, too! On top of all that, Siew is also a true technological pioneer in her community. According to Microsoft, she’s an Innovative Educator Expert. 🏅 She also just helped her middle school become a ClassDojo School—the first-ever ClassDojo school established in Brunei! In her words, “We believe we can lead other schools to follow our steps [to] bring the best to the kids in the country.” Thanks for all you do, Siew!
Julio GonzalezMultiple Subjects Teacher in Belize City, Belize
Julio is a Renaissance man who teaches 1st-5th grade computer science and 7th-8th grade spelling—and on top of that, he has his own homeroom class, too. Phew! In his teaching practice, he’s on the cutting-edge of technology—he started using ClassDojo before his school even had email accounts. During the pandemic, Julio showed other teachers the magic of ClassDojo, helping tons of new teachers and students get connected. He’s also been an amazing support system for his fellow teachers and students as they have been dealing with the destruction of Hurricane Lisa. Julio has provided an endless source of light, knowledge, and positivity as his school community has come together to rebuild after the storm. Thank you, Julio, for all you do! ✨
Lidra Schenck3rd Grade Teacher in Fresno, CA
Lidra is a pioneer of positive reinforcement tools and discovered ClassDojo back in the early days. Her class may have set a world record with over 400K positive points! She has also invented innovative ways of using ClassDojo, including as a sign-in/out sheet and a video presentation portfolio. In her own words, she says, “I've tried to go beyond ClassDojo, and I keep coming back because there is no other way.”
Kim Rowe5th grade teacher in Jacksonville, Florida
Kim’s son introduced her to ClassDojo back in middle school, and she’s been hooked ever since! Kim has been teaching for 23 years now and just celebrated her five-year anniversary as a Mentor. As a seasoned teacher and Mentor, she absolutely loves “watching the community happen.” Her favorite part of ClassDojo is really getting to know families—even the PTA is connected. Go Palm Flamingos! 🦩
Rainah PraySecond Grade Teacher, St. Charles, MO
Rainah has been an OG user of ClassDojo since 2011 and made the leap to becoming a Mentor this year! She has been spreading the ClassDojo love as a parent, teacher, and now mentor. She especially loves sharing the Big Ideas and helping her students make connections between Mojo’s discoveries and their own lives. Additionally, as her school’s Tech Lead, she took the initiative to make a school website for sharing learning resources like The Mojo Show. 🎥 Fun fact: Rainah’s dad says she got her name because it was raining real hard when she was born. Rainah’s mom says that’s not true. 🌧️ Rainah’s fourth-grade experiences with classmates mispronouncing her name have taught her why it’s so important to call people by their correct name in school. 🤗
Álvaro CamposPrimary English Teacher, Murcia, Spain
You know those people who go above and beyond without you even asking them to do so? That’s Álvaro! As an English teacher in Spain, Álvaro has helped us translate endless teacher resources, student activities, and more to ensure teachers in his country get access to everything ClassDojo. We are so grateful for Álvaro’s generosity and look forward to many more projects to get ClassDojo to more classrooms in Spain!
ClassDojo Mentors, all around the world
That’s YOU! As you know, it’s Teacher Appreciation Week—and each and every one of you is a shining star this week and always! Keep on sharing the ClassDojo 💚 and your special, inspiring self. Thanks for all your hard work, Mentors!
Tonya Kelly M.Ed4th-grade teacher, Columbus, OH, USA
“Before you speak, think and be smart. It’s hard to fix a wrinkled heart.” That’s the motto Tonya’s students adopted during the Chalk Art Walk they did last October as part of National Bullying Prevention Month. When rain threatened their fun, her class took their anti-bullying energy indoors, writing uplifting messages on their desks and sharing personal stories about the importance of kindness. That’s just one small part of how Tonya’s impacting her local community through her nonprofit group, the Empower Our Youth Foundation.
Katie McCrayPrimary Teacher, Lead Guide at ClassDojo Clubs, Founder of Mighty Me
I am as excited about ClassDojo and what it believes in today, as I was in the very beginning! ClassDojo levels up my engagement and experiences as an educator and SEL specialist. Beyond schools, I love that kids in Clubs can take the lead and build on their confidence, leadership and teamwork skills. Through my coaching in Mighty Me, I use ClassDojo to share programs, events and observations and regularly use resources like Big Ideas, the Teacher Toolkit and Dojo Plus to enhance my services. Communicating the day and messaging parents are still key features that I have used daily since the very beginning.
Emily King15 years in elementary education, EdTech and SEL focus
Working with my squad at ClassDojo Clubs is a highlight of my day. We can talk openly and express our thoughts in order to solve problems and create the connections that make us a strong team. Kids in my squad have shown sparing ability to adapt, persevere, and to recognize changes in one another. For me, having the opportunity to meet new families, kids, and peers within ClassDojo has also been a worthwhile experience that has shaped me as an educator.
